Trianta village (also known as Ialyssos) retains a traditionally Greek atmosphere. Trianta village is situated at the bottom of steep, pine-covered hills and on the edge of the Ialyssos coastal plain which largely comprises olive groves, citrus orchards and tiny cultivated fields. The church, surrounded by traditional, low-rise, white and ochre buildings, is in the village centre with small shops, boutiques, bars and tavernas that also stretch along the adjacent high street. Trianta's main attraction is its famous windy coast, a mecca for windsurfers and located just ½ mile from the village. The main grouping of large hotels is concentrated along this mile-long strip of beach. A shingle beach runs the length of the resort. The sea is clean and safe for swimming although the pebbly beach can make taking the plunge rather uncomfortable without suitable footwear. Regular buses serve Rhodes Town and the villages along the coast. There is also a taxi-rank in the centre of the village. again, a resort suitable for all ages.
